American Style Bronze Teacher Training

Dedicated to ensuring excellence in partner dance instruction, this dance teacher education course is the only one of its kind in the nation. It is ideal for adults who are considering a career as dance teacher, or who would like to improve their own dancing. Teaching dance is a career option for anyone — even those with no prior dance experience!
The American Style Bronze Teacher Training is our most popular and is perfect for anyone motivated to become a dance teacher. In this dance teacher education course you will learn 17 dances and how to teach them. The entire curriculum can be completed in 4, 8, or 16 months (see below). The curriculum is divided into 4 separate courses, taking students through the entire DVIDA® (Dance Vision International Dance Association) Bronze American Style syllabus for the Smooth, Rhythm, and Nightclub dances. Sessions begin quarterly and may be taken in any order. Each session has no prerequisites; each is open to dancers of any level.

Schedule
The American Style Bronze teacher training program is ongoing, with new sessions starting every four months. You can complete the entire curriculum in 16 months should you take one course at a time. We are now offering two courses at once giving you the opportunity to complete the entire curriculum in just 8 months, and a 4 month accelerated training that involves taking two concurrent courses as well as intensive private lessons. You may start with any course and take them in any order.
Salesfree Sales: Trainees will also take Salesfree Sales during 1 quarter of Teacher Training. It will be offered every other quarter for an hour and a half one night per week. This 24-hour sales training will transform the way you think about sales and the way you communicate with your students, colleagues, and employers. 16 Month Track
This track covers all four courses consecutively. Classes meet for two hours twice a week from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; this way you can keep working at your day job while you train and prepare for a career you will truly love.
Tuition per course: $550/month
8 Month Track
You can take classes in both our San Francisco and Oakland locations and complete this track in just eight months. This option is ideal for prospective teachers who are ready for complete immersion in the world of ballroom dance. You’ll be dancing four nights a week and taking two different courses at the same time. This is a terrific way to compress and accelerate the learning process—what you learn in one course will help to make you a better dancer in the other course. You’ll be meeting many new friends in the dance world, and your dancing and your opportunities will truly soar!
Tuition per course: $550/month (Total = $1,100 per month)
4 Month Track
This super-accelerated track is ideal for teacher trainees from out of town who want to devote themselves completely to their dance teacher training. In the four month track, you’ll take both the San Francisco and Oakland classes at night, and then cover the remaining two courses in private lessons with one of our master teachers. Trainees typically need to take four private lessons per week to ensure they are mastering the material they are learning. We will be happy to recommend a master teacher we feel you would work well with. Prerequisite for the 4 month track: At least 1 year of ballroom dance training.
